Post 16In the sixth form students can opt to take Single award ICT or Double Award ICT, both of which are provided using the OCR Nationals Level 3 courses and are equivalent to one or two traditional A’ levels respectively. Students are awarded grades at Pass, Merit and Distinction, which are equivalent to E, C and A Single Award ICTIn the Single award ICT students study a total of six units: four of these are compulsory units and include creating digital business communications, problem solving using spreadsheets, completing a group assignment and creating a digital showcase. The optional units studied are :Creating a Digital Video and Digital Imaging and Photography. Double Award ICTFor students with a passion for the subject and a desire to increase their overall knowledge of ICT we also offer double award in ICT. This builds upon the skills gained in the single awards and comprises of an additional six units. These include units on advanced spreadsheets, web site development and an introduction to computer games development.
