Key Stage 4

In ICT all key stage four courses are based upon the OCR Nationals Level 2 suite of qualifications- this is a vocational course that allows a larger number of students to succeed at the course and to achieve grades A*-C .

Core ICT

Core ICT is studied by all students in years 9, 10 and 11 and is comprise of two Units that are equivalent to one full GCSE
The first unit equips them with the skills they need to use IT effectively within a business by producing a range of business documents and demonstrating the effective use of the internet and email.

The second unit enables students to develop their creative skills as they will produce an animation suitable for use on the internet.
 

Option ICT

In years 9 and 10 students have the option to complete an additional two units of ICT in order to complete a double award in the subject. These units are currently Website Design where students construct a multi page website using industry standard website development tools and Multimedia Products where students create a presentation that incorporates sound video and animation techniques
